Overture Online is the shop front for the Overture suite of products, which is made
by Keima. Overture is a planning solution for
wireless networks that is both powerful and flexible.
Overture is made by industry veterans with over 30 years collective experience making
software for the telecommunications industry. It is the product of over 20 person-years
of development and has proven itself in consultancies and national carriers around
the world.
The company founders and product architects are still fully engaged with Keima and
the product is in active development.
Overture Online is a different approach to telecoms software, and this is why...
Time for a Change
We took a long hard look at our industry of telecommunications software. Drawing
on past experiences and after consultation with many engineers, we realized that
change was necessary.
Yes, the engineering tools that we use everyday are powerful and valuable; we know
that because we have seen most of them and even contributed to a few. However, the
full potential of these tools is rarely realized for many reasons:
- The tools are too expensive
- Complex tools are hard to learn
- Poor support leads to missed deadlines and reduced confidence
- Tool management and procurement is difficult and time consuming
- Secret pricing makes it hard to budget for software and hard to compare products
- New features arrive long after you needed them
These failings in the tools that were specifically designed for telecoms engineering
have meant that the most popular tools for network planning today are actually Excel
and Google Earth. But these generic tools are not truly fit-for-purpose: they do
not consider the complexities of the radio environment, they cannot accurately compare
different technologies or deployment scenarios, they offer no insight into the causes
of network problems, and they do not scale as your network grows. In short, they
end up costing you money.
We set out to build a system that addresses the biggest problems in telecommunications
engineering software. We used a modern development platform to build a flexible
and scalable solution that could evolve rapidly to meet the needs of the engineers.
An Online Business
The first thing that is different about Overture is the extent to which we have
embraced the Internet. Over-the-web installation and updates, simple online purchasing,
and instant electronic support means that we can reach more customers more cheaply.
This is what allows us to keep our costs low and our customer satisfaction high.
Obviously we are not the first business to do this, but we have the expertise required
to make it work in our sector.
All About Process
Overture comes pre-loaded with a process that guides the user through all of the
core planning activities. It is written by engineers, for engineers and allows you
to be productive from day one.
New processes can be added through a modern scripting engine allowing for a custom
fit to internal process-driven engineering.
This enables organizations to increase efficiency for all of their planning activities. Any large
organization will appreciate the ability to manage process while creating consistency
and repeatability.
An Agile Platform
Telecommunications changes fast; new technologies, devices, and applications are
coming out all the time, and it is up to the front-line engineer to make sure their
network stays ahead of the game.
Overture has been designed from the ground up to be flexible and agile enough to
keep pace with the telecoms market. We use cutting-edge software technologies and
an open-platform philosophy to get the right tool to the right place at the right
time.
Low Cost, Not Low Quality
The telecommunications market demands increasingly efficient and cost-effective
engineering. This means that engineers demand lower cost tools to fit within leaner
budgets. Our lower overheads allow us to deliver low prices with no compromise of
product quality. In fact we believe our products are better, faster, and cheaper
than the alternatives, and with a
single click
you can install the product and find out for yourself.
